Nadal Powers Past Simon

Spanish top seed Rafael Nadal land a victory for France world number eight Gilles Simon 6-2, 7-5, 7-5 to reach the Australian Open semifinals for the second consecutive year Wednesday. Seed Fernando Verdasco.. Simon broke Nadal three times in the first set and survived a second time to go to professional Open first all-Spanish semifinal with 14.
